Started playing club cricket with Malmesbury in the 1960s, and then played in Bristol. I played my first match for Devizes 1st X1 in 1979. Subsequently played for (and at times captained) the 2nd, 3rd and 4th X1"s. Initially played as a right arm off spin bowler and a left hand lower order batsman. In the days when matches were played on both Saturdays and Sundays I have memories of taking 50 wkts and making 500 runs for the 2nd X1 in the same season. Having now reached my 61st year I still enjoy cricket with the 4th X1 standing at first slip offering encouragement to to younger players and trying to support Des who has captained the side so admirably over recent years.
I have been both Secretary and Fixture Secretary of the Club and was made a Life Member in 2004.
